Internet connection just stops and DPS doesn't run

    Hi,
I'm new to the forum and I have an issue. My 6 month old laptop just spontaneously stopped connecting to the internet. It says it has limited access to the network that 3 other computers all work on. I tried to diagnose it but the diagnostics says Diagnostics Policy Service isn't working. I tried to run DPS manually through services.msc and it came up with 'Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.
Would truly appreciate help and offer anyone who does help an apology in advance for my computing naivety.

I've completed both a malwarebytes and a NIS scan and both came up with nothing. Thoroughly stumped

the dependency service or group failed to start

I seem to have a similar problem, but hopefully a little better after doing sfc /scannow it found nothing and I still have the same problem. So here is my ip config /all after resetting my winsock entries and the TCP/IP stack is:
ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting
ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

    Help would be much appreciated

The first image from above showed that you had an IP address of 169.xxx.xxx.xxx, which means you don't have a valid IP address. Start a command prompt, and run ipconfig /release and then run ipconfig /renew Let me know if this helps.

Did you check and see if the RPC service is running? The RPC service stands for Remote Procedure Call (RPC). Try starting this service and then try the release and renew again.
