Windows 7: D-link DWA-140 vB2

hi all,
having trouble installing this on a Windows 7 PC. Windows 7 pro 32bit

have downloaded the Windows 7 driver from dlink and run the setup as an administrator – half way through it says I terminated the program and i can run it again via connection wizard.
when I go to run that it says it cant find the adapter.
When I go to device manager it shows the adapter as a wireless11g adapter, but no drivers, when I try and install the drivers it says it cant find the adapter?
Anyone got this to install on Windows 7?

This installs and works fine on a Windows 7 Laptop.

I dont think it is the adapter as I borrowed a Netgear WG11 Adapter to try and the same thing happened, driver not installing, and setup failed to install the software.



AV and firewall have been disabled.

Hi Siggy, welcome to sevenforums. Sounds like you've got some of the failed install still present in your system. Try doing a system restore to a point before you tried the first install then install the software first before connecting the adaptor. Can you let us know some details on your router and adaptor model just in case there is a clue there?
