Access denied to Program Files over network
I am sure this question has been asked 1000 times but I cannot for the life of me find a good answer.
I am using Windows 7 Pro with three computers on a home network. I use the Microsoft flight simulator quite a lot along with flight planners, etc. the flight simulator software is running on the most powerful computer on the network. Some of the accessory programs (such as a flight planner) to the flight simulator are running on another computer (a client) on the network. For the most part I have had no trouble with these programs. Two of the accessory programs that I have need access from a client computer to the flight simulator files which are contained in the program files (X86) folder on the flight simulator computer.
Try as I may, I cannot figure out how to get access to the program files folder without getting a "access denied" error. I can access any other folder on the flight simulator computer without difficulty, but, I cannot seem to figure out how to get access to the program files folders from another computer on the network without getting the error "access denied". I had no difficulty of any kind setting up permissions using properties and sharing to access the other folders.
I would sure appreciate it. If somebody could steer me down the right road to get the permissions working.
Thanks for any help.
