    Download speed major drop

Hi, at my house i have a 16mbps comcast connecion, normally we get a transfer rate of around 300-500 kpbs sometimes even 1mpbs transfer. Recently our tranfer speed has dropped to around 40 kbps, we have 7 computers all on wifi in the house and each normally get 1mpbs if they are all downloading at the same time, but now we are getting max 50kpbs. I have downloaded a couple programs recently, i do not know if i got a virus or something. or if another program is taking more bandwidth. But i do not know if it a computer virus because every computer is slow. Could it be a virus on the home network.?

    Thank-you

What kind of signal strength are you getting on your wireless network?

Do you've a gamer or someone who torrents a fair bit living with you? I'd guess someone's just using the available bandwidth more than they used to.

Hi and welcome to Seven Forums.

Can you connect to your router and see the connected devices, see screen shot below taken from my BT Home Hub, if I was to see any devices that i don't know then i would kick them off and change my password (complex password to be safe :))
