Thin Pc Homegroup vpc

Does anyone know why a thin pc homegroup will not work from within a virtual machine. Host is windows 7 professional. Tried all network adapter types. This is the error from the thin pc homegroup troubleshooter thing.

Windows 7 x64 pro/ Windows 7 x86 Pro/ XP SP3 x86

Thin pc cannot be run in a vm.

Maybe I'm confused. Thought that was the point of the inplace upgrade stuff.
