No antivirus or firewall on the fresh installation (Windows Defender and Windows Firewall are disabled).
Is QoS configured? Give priority to HTTP/web browsing traffic, you could also try changing the DNS to Google's public DNS. Try the DTA add-on for FIrefox - does it complete the download successfully? You could also try a Linux boot disk.
I'll look into those suggestions tomorrow, as it is the end of my work day now. Though I'm not sure how any of those things would cause it to not work in Windows 7 while it works with Windows XP. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll get back to you tomorrow.
QoS is not configured. If it is a DNS issue, then why only Windows 7? The DTA add-on failed as expected since it is not only an issue in Firefox. Lastly, I'm not trying with a Linux boot disk because I'm sure it will work since the issue is only on Windows 7 machines. Thank you for the suggestions.
Have you tried updating the NIC drivers? Does this affect wireless and ethernet or just one?
All drivers are up to date. All of the machines are desktop machines with only LAN cards so I'm not sure if the wireless would work or not. I'll see if I can get a Windows 7 laptop to test though.
Hello. It will be good to upload MSINFO32 report here. Enter msinfo32.exe into the start menu, and press enter. Go to File>Save, and save a copy on your desktop. Right-click on it, and select Send to>New compressed folder. Then attach the file to your next post.
The router has a built-in firewall. you stated you didn't set it up. Could the firewall settings have something to do with how it addresses Win7 traffic? Did you get QoS set up?
I don't see any way that the firewall would affect Windows 7 and not Windows XP, or why it would not be consistent. No QoS is set up. I've attached my MSINFO32 report.
