    Can't stay connected!

Please help anyone!!! I just got a new refurb HP Presario CQ56 windows 7 laptop with Ralink wireless. I have updated all drivers individually and by a program for everything. I have 3 laptops sitting in the same room. This one, an xp and a visita 32 bit (and a friend 3 times a week also on xp). All but the windows 7 one work just fine.

The windows 7 connects fine at times but not for long. always up and down. I have tried all channels. I have a linksys router E2500, supporting g and n. my laptop I am trying to connect has RaLink... RT5390 802.1 b/g/n... driver version 3.1.14.0.

Why can't I get it to stay connected? The router goes into my den where the main PC is XP Pro. All the laptops are about 15 ft away in the next room... all work great but the windows 7 and it is not just my network... I have used inSSIDer to show it is all networks this laptop suck with. The others are full stregth with mine and neighbors and this laptop will show nothing, then be okay for awhile... then nothing in no time.

    Please help!!!

    Help!!!!

go here your adapter is listed - Ralink 2011 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter Compaq Presario CQ56-103TU Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (Australia - English)=
there were 4 results for the HP Presario CQ56 and all have the RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter driver for w7 - one of the 4 results - Compaq Presario CQ56-103TU Notebook PC etc
Driver version 2011-01-14 , Version:3.1.13.1 -earlier driver but maybe worth a try
There are more on the usa site but same story -
HP Support & Drivers | United States

There is a newer driver here but im not sure you would be into radar sync - but its standard version is probably free - use a restore point if your interested http://www.radarsync.com/drivers/d233408-
type ralink then select w7 64 bit then select again from the list of results your adapter.

RadarSync keeps erroring out on me, but I did try a similar program that updated my driver from 3.1.13.1 to 3.1.14.0 and neither of those driers seem to fix the issue. This is so frustrating!

It doesn't sound like a driver issue from what you say you've tried already. You should have a warranty and support from HP on the laptop. I'd contact them for support. It really sounds like you have a buggy wireless card.

Was definitely afraid of that! I'll have to give them a call. Thanks.
