Only 1 computer dislikes my router
Hey guys.
So over the past year at college I bought a router to use at the dorm: A Belkin router, model F7D6301. Upon coming home for the summer, I figured it was simply a matter of plugging in to the router at home (Netgear) and connecting. While my laptop took the change well, as I it's connected to the netgear hundreds of times, my desktop however, did not.
My first guess was that the belkin software was creating an issue keeping the desktop from connecting. I un-installed the belkin software, yet the issue persisted.
Upon plugging the router (netgear) in, the desktop, connected through ethernet, says "No network connection", followed by "No internet connection" after the router begins to warm up. After the router is warmed up, and other devices can connect to the internet, my desktop goes back to saying "no network connection". I've switched out ethernet cables, and tried all 4 ports on the router, with the same results.
I'm stumped, and don't have enough know-how about networks to go digging around in any advanced settings without asking how first. Any suggestions?
