    UAC Lockout

    Hi all,

Today I was going through the process of setting up a Dell E6420 Laptop which I had connected to the domain we have at work.

I decided I would take an image of the hard drive in case I want to deploy it in the future on a similar laptop. As I usually do, I took the PC and put it into workgroup before I too the image. This is because I have local administrator accounts that I can log back into and rejoin the PC to the network after I've taken the image.

Unfortunately, when I log back into the local administrator account, User Account Control seems to lock everything out. I'm unable to get into Computer management, computer properties etc as a Window pops up saying to Enter an administrator name and password or Insert a smart card. I have an administrator name and password however this window contains no text fields to enter the name and password and as such is useless. Thus I am unable to do anything.

Has anyone else encountered such a problem? I'm presuming it is a Windows 7 issue.

    Thanks in advance
