Sharing HP Laserjet 2820 on wireless network

Good afternoon all,

I have an HP Color Laserjet 2820 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier attached to my PC. My PC is a Dell 1545 laptop running 64-bit Windows 7. I can print and scan on the printer using the software on my computer.

My wife has a Compaq 615 laptop running 32-bit Windows 7. We share a home wireless network. She can print to the 2820 printer wirelessly, but not scan: the scan options do not appear in her driver software, when she is connected wirelessly.

If she picks up her computer, crosses the room with it, and plugs the printer USB cable into the side of her Compaq laptop, then opens the printer software, the scan options are available and she can scan direct to her PC.

Can we arrange it so that she can use the scanner functions wirelessly?

Thanks,
