Yea, it works fine connected by USB. (Directly to a running machine - router does not have a USB port) I have tried using the direct network address but it just says it does not exist. Maybe the printer was not made to be able to use the card reader if connected by ethernet but you would think it would be mentioned somewhere. I cannot find mention of it.
I still think it's possible. I am surprised there are not more resolved cases on the net. There are a number of posts on different forums. Most say drivers
are the answer.....maybe I have overlooked something. I have tried the latest network and printer drivers from HPs site.
I also wonder if it has something to do with the router. I am using DD-WRT firmware. I see settings in the interface about the ports and port setup. This firmware has WAY more options that the linksys firmware that was on the router new. It's probably not the problem but for anyone who sees this and knows.....it might have something to do with the router.
