constant connection problems
Hello, I've searched in the forum before posting but i couldn't find any solution to my problem.
Since i updated to windows 7 ( ultimate 64x ) i've experienced some issues with my internet connection. The connection set at the house is 10mb but the internet speed that reaches to my desktop ( this pc ) is about 1mb or sometimes less.
I check the other computers in the house ( all receive the internet via wireless ) and all of them get the 10 mb without problem. I decided to check if it was a problem with the distance from the router so i placed one of the laptops in the exact location of my desktop and ran a speed test in both pc's at the same time , the laptop got the 10mb while my desktop 20kb.
My pc is the only one in the house with windows 7 and i can't find any possible explanation to this problem.
i've read about updating drivers , dns problems , resetting the router and nothing worked.
these are the specs of the network adapter

driver version 188.8.131.52 ( don't know how to get the newest version)

the only thing i can't do is move the router from its location or use a wired connection

If you have any ports open on your router that have big security risks, I wouldn't give out your external IP.(Even though there are other ways to find it I wouldn't get a criminal a step closer. Anyways about your problem, if you have already tried enabling,disabling,reinstalling network adapter drivers then it might be better to get a one or see if you still have a warranty check into that. Also, just try enabling,disabling, and reinstalling the drivers again. Hope this helps!
