Windows 7 - Windows 7 streaming

I have tried to connect my xbox 360 to stream my music from my laptop however it will not detect it at all but will detect my mother's computer, I have opened up the windows media player for streaming and all that however, my computer will still not show up on my xbox. Is there any way to check if your computer is streaming anything at all? I looked at all the network devices and under media devices it would say my mother's computer and my xbox but would not show my computer for some reason, can anyone help??
