I just picked up an E2000 refurb and the first thing I did was install DD-WRT (14929) on it. Followed all the steps, but it would not connect to the internet (wired and wireless). I could log into the router through the browser and change any settings I wanted, but no internet.
So I reinstalled the Cisco firmware (most recent available online). Same exact deal.
So I tried installing Tomato (1.28 VPN). Same exact deal.
I'm assuming I got a bad unit since the same issues went on with all three firmwares, but I just wanna make sure. Also, I plugged my old router (D-Link Dir-628) back in and it works, so it's not Comcast.
One thing to note is even after flashing over the DD-WRT firmware, whenever I plugged into the router via ethernet, that LAN connection was named "dd-wrt." Not sure why that name never reset.
Any way it's not a bad unit?
