I have also tried firefox, which also didn't work. And here is the expanded startup tab.

Thx. I see nothing strange there, maybe Grady does?

If the difference is really only safe mode w/networking vs normal and in the latter you cannot access internet... I'd suspect your symantic stuff assuming you also use it for the firewall. Again, are you sure you cannot mail?

Another test / check. When you look at your local network layout (see below) what do you get when you choose the top right "full network layout"? Sorry my example is in dutch...

I would enable your startups and restart. I don't see anything malicious in there... and technically symantec would let you get to the internet (Depending on installation and defaulted modules)

1-Turn off your windows firewall, and any installed firewall software.(Check it too in Task Manager/ Services).
2-Uninstall symantec using "symatec removal tool" or an advanced uninstaller software.
3-Check your Network Adapters in Device Manager.
4-Check and start Network connections in Task Manager/ Services.
5-If you use a system optimizer restore back to defaults settings.
    Hope this help.

The only thing I haven't tried is getting rid of symantyc because I can't find an uninstaller that doesn't charge me. But, still no luck.
