    That blinking orange light is concerning.

    pulled from lenovo site:
    If, however, the card does not have any lights or has orange or red lights, it is possible that either the card is bad, the card is not connected properly, or that the card is not receiving a signal from the network.

    Thank you both for the reply...

    I had Lenovo replace the Ethernet card with a new one. The Ethernet works now but I can no longer boot into AHCI. It will only boot into compatibility mode now. I have tried doing system repair 4 times. I ran chkdsk /r /f. I can't get it to boot into the SATA drives with AHCI. If I reload the entire OS I'd like to wipe it clean with some program that will check and relocate bad sectors. Does anyone know if KillDisk will relocate bad sectors?
