    no local area connection

    Win7 home Premimum 64bit
It started with a trojan which is removed but it left a couple of problems. Here is the last one.

Device manager shows my lan card. I've tried uninstalling it but its uninstall app hangs...no messages just never finishes.

Network Connection in control panel comes up blank, nothin, nada under manage network connections.

Is there a netsh option that will rebuild the winsock/lan card interface?

Have you tried simply disabling and re-enabling the device in the device manager?

did you have system protection enabled when you got that trojan? Do you have restore points prior to that date?

*NOTE* Do NOT restore to them (if you have them)... I would actually suggest backing up and wiping the installation if you did have protection enabled.

Well that was why I was trying to uninstall it. It will disable/enable but network connections "change adapter settings" still shows no lan adapters.

I looked for restore points way back...none before I removed the trojan.

wiping the hard drive? That's a wimps way out

I found that almost all services had been disabled. After re-enabling them things came around.
