    Share folder over the internet?

I have a remote workstation in another town that I would like to have a direct drop folder via the internet..

How would I set that up?

I have a shared folder for when I am local (about twice a week), but I'd like to still be able to drop files into the folder when I'm out of town..

I have remote desktop working, but I can't drag/drop files and folders back and forth..

    ?

    Yes..

    Thats not what I want..

I want to drop files into a folder on my machine, and they upload to the remote machine directly.. Not to Dropbox waiting to download..

I basically want a shared folder over the internet..

I have several machines set up with my DropBox account. At home & at my work. When I place a pic or file in my DropBox folder, it shows up on the other machines Dropbox folder within a minute.

    I doubt a 7G file would..!

    I'd have to buy a Pro50 account..

I've used dropbox before with another client, and I uninstalled it.. It's just not what I need for this situation..

You are right, the large size of the file is a problem.

I think that Windows Live Mesh is what you are looking for. It's a little tricky getting it set up right, but I have a PC and two laptops. I have specific folders on my PC that are directly linked to the same folders on each of the laptops. When I make a change in a file on one of the machines, it is automatically changed on the other two. You can have up to 5 gig FREE. I think I have attached a little pdf file with instructions.

    nolakenoforest:

I don't want an exchange type situation where the files I upload are hosted and synced with other computers..

I have very large files that I want to drop in a folder and it automatically copies to a remote machine directly..

Right now we are FTPing everything, but that involves uploading and then downloading (basically the same as dropbox/live mesh).. I'd rather drop it in a folder and have it automatically copy straight to the machine where it needs to be used..
