    modem connected but no internet - error message 105


    Hey, basically I've just moved house and the internet isn't working. We have a modem that's connected to a pc with an Ethernet n there is a laptop co-nected wireless. Connections between comp n modems are good but modem to internet isnt. When loading ie or Chrome a message comes up 105 unable to resolve the servers dns. Please help!

    Have you checked with your ISP to see if they are having any problems ? Can you log onto your modem and check that you have the settings right.

    You haven't given too much info about your set up, can you tell the experts what operating systems the machines are running, who is your ISP and is it the same one as you had at the old house.

    Click on Start then Run and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as shown, including double quotes:

    cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

    and press ENTER.

    A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.
