I'm having the same problem connecting to the internet, just a random thing so it's harder to pinpoint. I have been running Windows 7 for a few weeks now on a dual boot system with XP with no probs until a few days ago. I was not able to get online so I created a new profile and logged in using the new one and was able to get online, up until yesterday. Now both r locked out. I run the troubleshoting tool and it tells me it's the firewall, which is NOT running. Yet I can go into XP and get to the internet no problem. I do have ESET 4 smartsuite but for some reason the firewall part doesn't work in Windows 7, only the antivirus. Wondering if I should uninstall all together? But getting online, I click on IE icon and it acts like it doesn't even try to connect, like it's not connected and is not gonna even try to find one. so I think something is blocking it for sure...but what! I will try rolling back the latest updates...bbl
btw...I am able to see my router, I mean it shows me in the diagram my comp my router and connection to the internet with no red X going thru it so I assume it's getting connected but is blocking me out. In my device manager I do see under Network Adapters there is two errors about the ESET firewall...
