Unidentified Network Internet Issue
Here is my problem:
- cannot gain Internet access
Signs:
- unidentified network/exclamation point
- error when attempting to use Firefox (web browser)
Details:
- Internet works fine on other systems (currently on iPhone)
- Realtek system
- do not had access to system itself
- public Internet
- WPA2 encryption (security code is correct)
Tried:
- uninstalling adapter
- uninstalling drivers as well
- turning off DHCP
- turning off IP Helper
- disabling Bonjour and any counterparts
- googling a lot
- turning off firewall
- looking for McAfee (not found)
- uninstalling Norton
- Windows troubleshooting
- disconnect/reconnect
- disable/enable
- turning off IPv6
- turning off IPv4
- updating driver software
- turning 802.11d on/off
- getting frustrated
- being patient
- setting IP to that of iPhone
- setting alternate static IP
- allowing for dynamic IP
- route delete 0.0.0.0
- other route functions
- "secpol.msc" (could not find)
- scanning for hardware changes with device manager
- resetting winsock catalog
- reset int ipv4 and ipv6 (whatever that was...)
- searching for way to make network private
- giving up and restarting
Have not tried:
- asking on forums (doing it now, duh)
- headdesking (it's not my desk....)
- downloading alternate drivers (yeah, I WISH I had the Internet to do that... lol...)
- killing myself (I need to tell everyone online first... JK)
- giving up permanently (last resort)
Do hopefully with all my poor jokes we an agree that I am kind of desperate for some suggestions? Preferably new ones that work. :O
