Windows 7: my games Ping is 300-400,yet my download speed 4MB/S, pix inside >help

hi guys

i got a big problem , which is my games ping like call of duty , battlefield

is always 300-400, yet my download speed is so good 3-4MB/s

can any one help me , how isolate my computer from other computers on my network

or any idea to improve my ping

Firstly, are you noticing lag in-game?

Secondly, do you have your own router? If so, do you have it secured at all? If you can tell us the make&model, we can probably help you with securing it.

the problem is that : the router is not near me ,

and frankly speaking , i have no idea about the brand of the router

so is there any application , by which i can know the type of my router??

Normally, when doing online gaming the ping is directly related to the server location that the game is running on, which has no bearing on your internet downloads. I play L4D(2) and if I set up the game I have a ping of 5 and if my buddies set up the game and I join in, my ping can be 101 to 900. It just depends on how close the server is located when we connect to play as to what ping we receive.
