Shared FileServer for My documents and multiple computers
Hi, I've recently been asked to set up a default image (windows 7x86 prof) that, when loaded to a pc will have only the admin account available at first, and then whenever you add a new user account the My Documents will be placed on the fileserver and the public folder will point to a public section on said file server.
I've got theese two things done using registry tweaks however the owner wants the same account to be made on multiple computers in certain instances (lets call him bob) and for that username to, by default (when the account is initially created) to share the My Documents folder with another Bob on another computer.
At the moment the registry points to \\FileServer\%USERNAME (or wahtever)%\
and creates the my documents folder, but when multiple accounts of the same name do this they append the name of the current computer onto it, leaving with me directories like "bob" "bob.dell775" and so on.
Is there anyway to stop this appending behaviour and have windows accept there is already a directory for the user's documents and to use that?
Many thanks, and sorry for the wall of text!
** edit, also i'm not currently using the homegroup function, and would preffer to do this without it if possible since i understand homegroup needs to be set up with each account, he wants this to be as simple as possible, creating an account and it all being ready from the moment it is logged on, no changing paths etc **
