Sharing B/w Windows XP and Windows 7 via Single Wifi-Modem

Hello, I have a laptop having windows 7 in it and a desktop having Windows XP SP3, both the laptop and Desktop are connected to a single wifi-modem[I don't have any router b/w, my modem has wifi and router in it in simple it is a router, a modem and a wifi device ] The problem is when i tries to do sharing b/w my desktop & laptop, neither I can see my laptop in 'My network Places' at desktop nor see my desktop on my laptop.
I've done all the basic steps: like by workgroup is same, and all necessary things in 'Network and sharing' at win 7. I still cant see see the computers, though i can ping my laptop from desktop and my desktop from the laptop.

P.S: Laptop is connected through WIFI and Desktop is connected through wire.

No, It didn't help me. Please re-read my post.
Actually I don't want to share my printer, the problem with me is that neither by desktop nor my laptop are showing on either sides, though both of them are connected through a single network [i.e a Wifi Modem REMEMBER: No router between, directly single wifi modem]

I know you didn't want to share a printer but the basic steps are the same, be it a printer, file or folder. That's why I thought the link might be a help.

Lets see what ipconfig /all thinks. Do this on each both computers.

Click on Start then Run or Press Windows key + R and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as shown, including double quotes:

    cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

    and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.

You only posted the ipconfig info from one computer, the one connected wirelessly. Need it from both so I can compare the results. May not show anything but it's worth looking at.
