How many computers? I hate to ask a dumb question, but how many different computers can use a typical single-band wireless-n router at the same time? | My System Specs |

Most routers can run up to 4 PCs (wired) and 1 Wireless.
As far as how many can connect to the wirless portion, I think so long as you log in with the proper credentials, it can support multiples.
Im not entirely sure though TBH as to exactly how many the wireless part will support. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom (Self Build) OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel Core i7 2700k Motherboard eVGA P67 SLI Memory 8GB Mushkin Redline Ridgebacks @1866 Graphics Card EVGA GTX570 SC Sound Card XiFi Titanium HD Monitor(s) Displays LG W2453V Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Saitek Cyborg PSU Seasonic x750 Case Corsair 600T SE White Cooling eVGA Superclocked CPU Cooler Hard Drives Intel 320 80GB -- Intel X25-V 40GB --WD Black 1TB x2 -- WD Blue 640GB Antivirus Kaspersky Browser IE Other Info LG BD/DVD |

Theoretically upto 254 connections. Your router would have a a setting that reads “starting IP” and “ending IP” and those are the settings that limit how many PCs can be connected to the network at the same time.
Of course whether you have DSL or cable you have a limited amount of BANDWIDTH which limits the speed of the internet connection to each computer. So, the more the number of simultaneous users you have, the slower the connection for each user. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Too many to describe... As Bill2 said the theoretical limit is 254 but I have seen routers that limit the number of concurrent wireless connections to as few as 5. For instance, Verizon has a device they sell called a MiFi which is a combo cellular modem/router which has a limit of 5. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 3.4Ghz 3770K i7, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec Case Antec 100 Cooling CM 212+ Hard Drives 128G SSD OS; 1.5T & 2T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. OK, all. Thanks. As long as I can get 2 or 3 on their wirelessly at the same time, I'd be happy. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio XPS 8100 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP 1 CPU Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz Motherboard Dell 0T568R (CPU1) Memory 8.0 GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 664 MHz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTS 240 Sound Card M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2407WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives 977 GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FAES-75W7A0 (SCSI) Antivirus MSE, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Browser Firefox Other Info Microsoft Security Essentials, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird.
