    Annoying network issue

When I turn on my desktop, the computer finds two networks, and no internet. The first is the correct router, named "NetGear", and the second is an unknown router. To fix it, I do the following:

First I bring up the network and sharing center.

Second, I click on "Local Area Connections"

Then I click on the "Disable" button. Both connections dissapear in the network and sharing center, and all you see is the computer icon to "internet" with an "X" in the line connecting the two.

Next, I click on the "X" between the computer icon and internet icon.

The windows diagnostics box comes up and does it's check. It then comes up with the following: "The Wireless Connection Adapter is disabled" and "Local Area Connection Adapter is disabled". I click on the bottom button that says "Try These fixes as Admimistrator".

The computer then fixes the problem exactly as it should be. One line in the Network and Sharing center that has the computer icon lined to NetGear lined to Internet.

Why does it do this every time? Why does it figure out the problem when I turn the network adapter off and then back on?

I have Windows 7 Home premium with a wired router connection. I use the wireless connection with my laptop (which has no issues), but no wireless on this computer because I find a wired connection works faster.

    Thanks!

Does your desktop have a wireless device listed?
If so simply disabling it in the device manager should remove the problem.

No, it was disabled a long time ago. It is not in the device manager list.

Something from when it was installed is obviously still causing you problems.
Are you certain all the software and everything was completely removed?
