Red X on Task Bar but No Actual Problem

Hi,

I'm running Windows 7. My wireless connection goes through a netgear adapter. the adapter says I'm connected, and I AM connected, obviously. However, the connection icon in my taskbar has the red x of death on it. When I troubleshoot, it tells me there's nothing to troubleshoot. Duh.

My problem is: Why won't the red X go away now? I have rebooted already. Thank you for your help.

Have you tried switching off and then switching on your wireless connection? Also: sometimes shutting down the computer completely and then starting it up again helps.

Task scheduler problem
I use DirSyncPro as a backup-tool. This tool can also run from the command-line, so it can also be used from within the task scheduler. Within Vista and XP this works fine. In Windows-7 I use the following action within the scheduler: D:\software\dirsync\dirsyncpro /sync /quit /nogui...
