Please Help, Having Issues Printing with XP and 7
Hey guys, so here's my issue. I have a printer on a Windows 7 machine (that works just fine on that machine) and i have a windows XP computer as well. The XP computer needs to share my printer to print documents and such...however I can't seem to get the printer installed on that machine. Ive tried adding a printer the standard way, it wont work, ive tried adding it via the localport trick, it didnt work...it seems to be coming down to driver (my guess).
The printer is a MFC-7420 (Brother). When i try to add additional drivers on the windows 7 machine so that it can send it to the machine, it doesnt seem to work, it asks me for the driver disk, and ive tried downloading the windows XP driver and it wont take it. ive also downloaded the entire installation disc on the windows XP machine, installed it, and it still wont accept those drivers for this printer....any ideas?
