Windows 7: Error occurs when trying to share internet

When I try to share internet with other users in my surroundings I get an error.
To share the internet I:

Goto: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
Right click a network connection
Select tab "Sharing"
Tick: "Allow other network users to connect though this network connection"
Select a private network connection
Done (?)

The error I get states:

in the event viewer the following appears:

And also this may be relevant. Appears right after that event:

It states the XML is malformed, so I cannot show it.
