Win 7 Network Setup Blues
Dear All
Firstly, I'm new here and have now trawled through about 20 threads with no luck.
So if my problem seems familiar, feel free to redirect me somewhere...
I have just installed Win 7 Home Premium on two computers that is connected (hardwired) through a common modem/router.
All I want to do is share files between the two.
When I click on Network (in Explorer) I can see the other computer. (I can also see all computers on the "Complete Network Map").
When I'm working on Computer A, and then choose Computer B in explorer, I can even see the folders that I shared, but if I click on those I get: "You do not have permission to access... Contact administrator..."
When I'm working on Computer B, and click on Computer A (in explorer) I get a popup asking for username and password. I have no idea what this could be as I do not use a password on any machine and password protected sharing is turned off on both machines.
I have also tried the new Homegroup thing with no luck. When I have to join the Homegroup on the 2nd PC (after creating a new Homegroup on the 1st PC) it just states that there are no Homegroup to join.
This problem is really driving me mad, and any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Regards, and thanks in advance
Andrew
