    Homegroup problems

I'm sorry but I think I have set both my Desktop and notebook up as you said in the instructions. The only things I was unable to be sure of are the WLAN on the router it does not seem to have a partition (Belkin n150 wireless router). Also I was unable to open the adapter settings. One place it said the IPv6 was not connected to the internet, but another said it was active and I could not find how to make an adjustment. But as near as I can be sure everything is right and it still will not allow the notebook to join the homegroup. Now understand I'm 71 and my mind is not as quick as it used to be, so I double checked. The only thing I have not tried recently is to delete the homegroup and reinstall a new homegroup. So now what, if you have time to mess with me? Thank you.

    Thank you!
I have always had trouble swallowing worms. Cheese is OK.
Both my computers are Windows Seven, one Home Preium Desktop, one Notebook with Windows Weven Basic. If I am reading correctly I can use this method to set these both up. Can I do the process with both computers and go back and forth?

I have now applied your solution to my desktop and my notebook does access the desktop folder Share. Thank You very much! I will wait before I try going back from the notebook to the desktop. The thumb drive routine was getting old especially with a lot of correction and adjustments. Whew that was simple and the directions were right on. I had spent four days on and off trying to find a solution and 3-4 hours on the phone. Glad that's fixed.

All things come to them that wait, not necessarily patiently.

Hi Bob, It will work in both directions for any OS. When I found the 'fix'' it never mentioned which adapter, so I dd both of mine.
A suggestion, as my netbook is switched off when I'm not using it, I made a folder on my main pc, it runs constantly. I named the folder 'Save To' and set it for sharing. I can put anything in it and its the accessible on any one, i.e. me & me/

Roderunner, Thanks again. You have been a Godsend to me. I do hope you are a born again Christian. This is how I do my Power Point Sunday School Lessons and the other way was tedious. Until Heaven Just thank God for you.
