Sharing file between Window 7 Ultimate and MacBook Pro OSX 10.6

I would like to access Window shared folders from my MacBook Pro. I have two PC running Window 7 x64 Ultimate and a MacBook. The Billion BiPAC 7800N manages the LAN connection between PC and is working fine. Wifi is turned on and MacBook Pro OSX 10.6 is connected to the BiPAC through Wifi.

On Window 7 I can see under My Computer > Network > LAU_MACBOOK_PRO (the macbook pro laptop). But when I click on it, it was not able to connect with Network error "Windows cannot access \\LAU-MACBOOKPRO"

On the Macbook pro, I tried the Command+K SMB connection
I typed in the ip address which was 198.168.1.104. It asked me for my username and password, I kept the MacBook pro username and no password (password sharing was off on Window 7). It connected up to the point I could see the folders, but when I click on the folder, it says that I cannot access because I do not have permission.

On window finder, I can see 192.168.1.104 under "Shared" but I cannot access any shared folder of Window 7 although I can see them (the name of the folder are correct)

I have google and tried a lot of solution none which helps me establish a successful connection between the Macbook pro and Window 7 Ultimate. I have tried the following.

In a Window 7 PC I have done the following:
- Went into the Local Policies > Securities Option and set
Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level > Send LM & NTLM responses
AND
both Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP (clients + Server) unticked Require 128-bit encryption
- Disabling the Firewall for both Domain Profile and Priave Profile

On the MacBook Pro I have
- Check that the WINS setup has the same workgroup as the Window 7 workgroup (I named it WORKGROUP)
- I have NOT added any address on the WINS workgroup option because I do not know what number to type in
- In System Preference > Sharing > SMB is turned on (green light)

Any recommendation? I tried to provide as much info as I could. Please help.
