Solved Any suggestions on a good Modem/Router?

I have a Netgear DGN2000 Modem/Router and it is piece of junk. It averages about 250kb a minute for a download speed. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a respectable replacement that is affordable. Within $130 range is what I'm looking for.

Most times the download/upload speed is a function of your ISP, not the router as most are about the same except they different options.

What speed does your isp say they provide? Also what isp are you using?

I have used Netgear once and wont do it again instead I went to a Cisco Brand and am very happy with it. Might be a little more than what your looking to spend try looking at the Cisco M20 Valet...

AT&T is my ISP and I am paying for 8mbps download speed. Using the speed tester provided by AT&T I average 4mbps. My download speed (when I actually download something) is averaging 70kps as of right now. I am scraping AT&T tomorrow and going with a high speed cable provider, either Comcast or Cox. I'm sick of AT&T and just plain DSL as a whole.

I got rid of AT&T a little over a year ago and went with Comcast and could not be happier. As for router I recommend the Cisco E3000.

Is that Cisco E3000 router great for gaming? I heard that D-Link makes some good routers as well. I do a lot of gaming and video streaming.

Also check out TP-Link routers. They normally get great customer reviews.
I bought one of their extended range models last May for a song. It's been rock solid with 0 dropouts, and 5 bar signal strength anywhere inside our house and at the farthest point of our lot(approx. 100' from router).

Hmm, and I always thought Netgears were great. I have a modem/router combo (DGB34PNG - that is a German model) and it works flawlessly since 2 years. I wonder whether yours is just suffering from a wrong setting or whether you have an ISP problem.

Well whs that probably because it's German all quality stuff comes from Germany at least that's what I have experienced whether it be software or hardware if you make it is always a quality product. Mine was made someplace else which I wont say but it wasn't here nor there..:sarc: any-who it could also be just luck some components last in the same products where others are defective and don't last and isp's are for the most part shady on how fast their pushing their data speeds when they advertize them. Depending on the traffic that is using the net and a whole lot of other factors especially for dsl.
