    delete wireless network profiles

    Hello;
    I have the home edition. I'm trying to delete a "ZTE Proprietary USB Modem" profile. I've removed the program through device manager and it's gone, but it still shows up when I click on "connect to a network". My adhoc network is also there. How do I get rid of both of them. I'd like to start with a clean slate to get my Ad hoc network going. I've tried the "Manage Wireless Networks" but they don't show up there. Appreciate any help.

    Regards, Albert

    Hello Albert
    Go to network and sharing center. there you can see the name of your connections.Below that it says if its a home/public network.Click the network icon and then click on MERGE OR DELETE NETWORK LOCATIONS.Then a window will pop up and you can choose the network you want to delete.

    Hello Danny;
    Thanks for responding from all the way across the "Pond". I was able to delete the first one (USB modem). Is it possible to delete the second one? If go to Manage Wireless networks, it won't let me delete it. Also, if I click on the Home icon, the wireless network does not show up to delete it. The only reason I'm tryimng to delete the network and start with a clean slate is to get my Ad hoc network going so that I can use ,through my Laptop (XP) the internet connection of my desktop Win 7.The icon at the bottom of my screen, right corner, shows connected with no internet (with a yellow Exclamation mark). I can ping both ways fine.I've enabled sharing on my Desktop pc lan connection. When I choose troublehooting on my Desktop, It comes up with 3 errors.
    1. You have no preferred wireless networks,
    2. Wireless networkconnection doesn't have a valid ip configeration
    3 sometimes , Problem with wireless adapter.
    This is a new adapter, have tried reinstalling it. A little long-winded but there are a lot of variables.
    I had it working the first time I created the Adhoc network but it's never worked since... getting the internet on my Laptop (client) through My desktop (Host).

    Regards,

    Hello albertdelaat

    If it is in use it will not let you delete it.I would suggest you disconnect/turn off any routers/network cards and try again, see if that enables you to delete it.
