Windows 7: Unable to connect to Active directory user and computers

Hi all the Win 7 Guru,

I have encounter a problem where my "Active directory users and computer" function suddenly unable to connect to my remote server.

I have run a nslookup and below are the reply

C:\>nslookup
Default Server: UnKnown
Address: 10.10.2.6

I confirm it is not the next work issue because in the same network there is few more PC running window 7 and XP, they don't have the problem as i mention.

I also have a virtual XP running in the notebook that i am using, So i try to install the adminpak and run the Active directory users and comptuer and what a supprise it work.

I have try to reformat the notebook and the problem still occur after i use it...

Please help!!!... tired of reformating.



Update on the troubleshooting of the problem i am encoutering, I find out that the window 7 that i am running is not able to resolve any PC name on my network. I am mentioning this because went i am using the virtual machine install in the notebook (Win XP) to remote desktop to other PC using the desktop name it is working fine. Another weird window 7 problem.... :S

did you try ipconfig /flushdns. and the ipconfig /registerdns. once that is done also clear the dns cache from the dns server and try.

I have try the ipconfig /flushdns and /registerdns... Not working :'(

For the clearing the dns cache from the dns server, I can't do it because i don't have the access. Is it that the reason? The cache on the server that cause the problem? To access my dns server i need a lot of approval and process..

Hi All,

After doing some changing and setting. The problem is getting worse, but at least now i know why my office communicator 2003 is not working last time.

The recent changes that I am that cause the OCs not working is unjoin and rejoin the domain workgroup. After I did that, my OCS 2003 is unable to connect and reply with the following error " There is problem verify the certificate from the server, Please contact your administrator".

To confirm that my network is working, using the same notebook Windows 7. I start my VMware (Win XP) and try to connect to OCS 2003, dissappointing me, my VMware XP are able to connect to OCS 2003.

What the hell is problem with my Windows 7......:'(

This is the 4th time i format my notebook....

Hello,

This is going to be an issue. If you are troubleshooting a computer without a permission from your Network Admin, you might get in trouble for trying to circumvent your network's restrictions. Seems to be a DNS issue...someone will need to see the Event Viewer log errors from the Server related to DNS. You should immediately consult your Network Admin.
