No access to Internet - Limited access for both wired and wireless

Hi i am new here
My Original post is here - No access to Internet - Limited access for both wired and wireless - Microsoft Answers

I have seen most of the threads going un-answered so i feel that i can get help from here!

My HP Laptop:
WIndows 7 Professional 64bit
Intel Dual Core 2 Ghz
Ram - 3 GB
Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter
Yesterday i was working on my laptop and in background the AVG antivirus client was downloading the files.
I have Avira installed and had planned to uninstall it after AVG client would be done with toe download.
Suddenly i faced a blue screen and when i restarted Windows, the AVG setup was incomplete...i couldnt uninstall it...so i did system restore but i was given some kind of bad image/sector? error...i dont remember that exactly....
but the programs and features now didnt show any AVG installation.
i have gone through Windows troubleshooting steps and searched a bit on various forums but none helped.
I face this problem on wired network too.
the router seems fine, as now im connected on my desktop from the same router.
And i know how to install the drivers and all connection settings part.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, i just formatted the system drive..
reinstalled Win 7 64 bit again and still i face the same problem!
I can access my router(with wire and wireless) but can't connect to internet
I also did router reset just to try in-case if it'd work...but it didnt
I just accessed wireless internet on another laptop!
So i am sure we need to do something with the laptop.
Thanks

Welcome to SF,

Have you tried connecting your laptop to another Wi-Fi network or hotspot or somebody else's router and do a wired connection?

How about a wired connection to your Modem? What's the outcome?

I don't normally work on HPs but when I rebuild most of the computers where I work, I usually have to download the adapter drivers and install them before I can connect to anything. (Using a USB stick and another computer)

I'm not sure what exactly happened to start all this, but since you reinstalled Windows, you might give it a try

Not yet...will be trying at a friends place/college.
And i have mentioned above that wired and wireless both don't connect to internet but just the router.
So for wired and wireless i face the same problem

I don't know if it will work, but i have installed 7 a couple of times and never had to install any drivers for Wired or Wireless LAN.
Though giving it a try is not a bad idea.

Thanks for quick response

Just, i searched my old DLink router, configured it and it worked with the laptop! It is a simple router with 1 LAN port.
So the router and my laptop aren't coordinating with eachother
My wireless router - DNA-A213(it was given by my ISP)

You've got two choices now.

Continue using your old Dlink router or pester your ISP to replace the faulty router they sent you.

If those two choices don't suit you could always go out and buy a new up-to-date router.

I have already complained them about it.
But why does that happen? the laptop restarted and since then there is no access
+ that router is supporting Wireless internet on Acer laptop which has XP installed.

Have you tried resetting your ISP router's settings?

It sounds as though the router is faulty so your ISP should rectify it.

If they won't, ask for your MAC number and tell them you're going to switch to an ISP that has better backup.
