Network & Internet queries?? Need Help

    Hi my Geek friends,

for the last few days having a real slow connectivity...upload is the real problem as download is still fine. I want to ask few basic questions to make sure i know this right...

    1) i'm using NetWorX program to keep a track of my data tranfer speed, usage & blah-blah....Now i want to know any such program does it shows the real data transfer speed (actual internet speed as so called in laymans language) or just the connection speed between the modem/router & my comp???

    2) can my network speed or data transfer speed can be affected due to a hardware failure on the modem/router, if yes then how to check this???

    3) what are the ways in which 1 can increase the speed ie real data transfer speed by even 10% as i know in the end the hardware 1 is using matters a lot plus the service provider's too. (I'm using a standard dial-up connection)i know that not much can be done with a dial-up connection but still some tips will be still good.

    4) if let say i'm trying to download a video/mp4 etc. from a free hosting site though as a free user & not as a premium user, offcourse i won't be given the full advantage as an premium (paid) user. But when i click on Slow Download box on the said website, it bring me back to previous page saying "ther is another download going on from your IP, Please try downloading later".
But actually there is no other download going on like WIndows Update,MSE update,Comodo Update,FDM off, even not downloading any program from any other site at the same time not even 7forum (wallpaper). If try again i get the same message, i want to know can there be any other download possible apart from what i listed above (there can be but not coming to my mind) & how to check them???

I know there are lots of questions but its making go MAD for the last few days....So my 1st & last resort our 7forums!!!

... go to www.speedtest.net and run the test and tell us what your isp is giving you as a cap on uploads and max download, plus ping time...

    HI!!!

In order to perform ping test,
Just visit this site WhoisXY.com PING Test
It has the best information of IP address, IP address to domain, domain name to IP,domain name, hosting, and ping test to know the particular connection is online or not!!!!!

Thank you Flower88 for your HELP!! Welcome to 7forums!!! :)

But guys why "evey1"is more interested in knowing the speed of my internet connection i.e., related to query# 3. Lets forget that point for the moment & can some1 help me with query# 1,2 & 4 those are my real concerns. Speed is altogether different issue for which WE all have to fight with our ISP guys in the end. (Sorry, i mean no offence to any1)
