serial ppp login
Hi folks. I have a very old IBM thinkpad. No floppy, ethernet, cd etc. What I'd like to do is "share" Windows 7 internet connection with it. It is running win98 se.
Here is what I have done so far.
1) Under linux, and a null modem cable got it chatting away under the serial coms program that win98 comes with.
2) Followed this Atari Falcon Internet Access via PPP on Win 7, to get a ppp connection under Windows 7.
The problem here is, no matter which way I try to connect, it says unable to connect.
I am resnobly competent tech, but serial coms it has been awhile
