Networking Win 7 64 desktop, Win 7 Starter netbook, Win Vista laptop
I am trying to implement a network among a few computers:
1. Windows 7 64 bit desktop
2. Windows 7 Starter netbook
3. Windows Vista laptop
I can see and get access between the 7 and Vista machines without being asked for a password. The two Win 7 machines each ask for network passwords when I try to go to the other. Why do the Win 7 machines need passwords? Is there some compatibility issue between Win 7 Home Premium and Starter? All are in the same workgroup. As far as I can tell I have password requirements turned off.

The windows 7 machines are not in homegroups. Since I posted, however, I brought in another laptop with Windows 7 and that has normal network access to the others without requiring a password. Seems like something weird with the Win 7 Starter netbook.
I just have whatever firewall that normally comes with a Windows machine. I didn't do anything to it so I assume it is Microsoft.
