VNC app suggestions - Moving on from UltraVNC

When I was on Vista, I looked into a few VNC programs (RealVNC, TightVNC, UltraVNC) to control the the pc's on my home network , and ended up with UltraVNC.

On Windows, I see many ( mostly old) posts re issues ; for me its not all that great either, in that:

- having many frozen screens
- mouse is often unresponsive
- cannot launch saved (old or new) VNC configuration files. ***

I think it time for a different product

Any suggestions??

My home network has 2 Windows 7 and 6 XP machines. I typically want to control any machine my main Win 7 ... but ideally want to control any machine from any location.

----
Error message below - its complaining about an invalid server....but UVNC vorrks fine if I simpley launch the viewer.

EDIT :: Error resolved by re-installing UltraVNV, selecting file association (on the install) and rebooting). Have not yet determined if preformance has improved.

Thanks. I actually already use logmein -- its great when I am away from the house and need to access something on one of my pc's.

But while at home, I dont want to have to use the internet just to get access to my own machine in the other room. As well, with UltraVNC (when was working), it's one click way - with logmein it's several ( ie open IE, go to site, log in, select pc, other prompts. connect), etc
