"Sending request" Internet/browser connection issue.

I went away for the weekend lately and came back to find my Internet isn't working as it should. It works fine on every other Internet-capable device in the house.

When I load a web page, it says sending request for about 2-3 minutes. Then it loads the webpage in a very basic style (See image.)

I have a feeling it's something to do with JavaScript, but I am unable to download Java, due to the webpage not loading properly.

Does anyone have any ideas?

That is Google Chrome, although I receive the same result on Safari.
Mozilla Firefox doesn't even get to that stage.
As for Internet Explorer, I don't have that.

Ahh, OK, I only use IE and don't know how to check other browsers.

Java plug-in needs permission

If you see a message bar within Chrome that says The Java plug-in needs your permission to run., you can perform one of the following actions:

  • Click the Run this time button to allow the Java content on the page to run only until you leave this page.
  • Click Always run on this site to allow Java to run on all this site's pages. You will not see this message again for pages on this site.
If you are downloading Java within Chrome and this message is shown, we recommend clicking the Always run on this site button.

Additional plug-in required

If you see a message bar within Chrome that says An additional plug-in is required to display some elements on this page, click on the Install plug-in link in the Chrome message bar, or download from java.com.
Plug-in out of date

If you see a message bar within Chrome that says Plug-in out of date, click on the Update plug-in link in the Chrome message bar to get the latest Java.
Found that for Chrome. http://java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml

Thank you - it turns out I am able to download it seeing as the webpage has loaded a little better this time.
It seems to load perfectly between certain hours, others not at all.

I've installed Java and it seems to be working a little bit better. Like I said though, it could simply be an hour or two where it works fine. So I will leave another post later on letting you know how it is!

Thanks for your help Britton30!

You are welcome my friend! There are many UK members here and some have had issues with various ISPs there. Maybe it is an issue with yours?

Safe to say it's not that, seeing as I don't live in the UK. Thanks anyway though.
Also, thanks again, installing Java did solve my problem. So many thanks for that!

Glad you got it working better at least. Sorry about your location, the flag on your profile is England.

Oh no worries - it's where I'm from, just don't live there, haha.
Like I said, the issue has returned. I'm trying different things, from giving it 30 minutes before use, to restarting explorer.exe

It still seems like a connection problem, like perhaps it drops some packets before it reaches your PC. See if your ISP can check it remotely or, if you are using a router or switch, connect the PC directly with an ethernet cable.
