Changing Router Password

I need to access my router's (Cisco E3000) configuration utility, but of course, that requires entering a username and password, which I guess that I must have used something even unusual to me, because now it won't accept anything that I can think of.

How do I discard the current username and password, and create new ones?

Yes, the IP produces a login window, but without any provision that I find to change or create them.

Hi seekermeister,

When you click here=> http:// 192.168.1.1 try the default Username for your router which is admin and Password is also admin. As soon as you access, you may change the UserName and Password.

If you are locked out, worst case is a reset to the factory default then reconfigure everything.

I've reset my Router many times, it's a good exercise. Needs to be done if you cannot remember your password.

Router Password?
OK, not quite a Windows 7 issue, but since this appears to be such a knowledgeable place I thought I'd ask here first - a client has a router that someone else installed, and who is no longer available through any means, apparently. They have a Draytek Vigor 2820 router, which works well, and also...
