I agree thats why I seconded your post. I keep forgeting that for me a modem reset is 2 mins. Lets hope your idea works so we dont have to find out.

May aswell ask here. Can someone explain to me how to create a brand new connection and delete my old ones? Just want to start again.

it worked ok in Fedora but the USB wireless adapter is D-link and the Gateway is Netgear. shouldn't be a problem i guess.....(but this is windows not linux :))

i have a 50 ft cable i gotta dig out for emergencies....it might be easier than bringing the other PC back here....(i think)

anyway--will try and report back. BTW-- i have grown a beard over this and it's grey---yeooow! thanks guys.

ok now i'm pissed......digging in my techie nightmare closet crap fell all over me and no cable----yet...arrrgh. i dont know where it's at.........arrrggh, maybe tomorrow.............
