| | Windows Image back fails "The disk is write protected" (network drive) I recently lost a WDEARS 2.0 gb drive. Failed so bad I could not recover any data. couldn't boot system with it connected. On it were all the system images of all the PCs in my home. No great drama losing these coz they are easy enough to recreate. Whe I installed the new drive I gave users and administrators full control to the NTFS and share permissions. I have now started to recreate the images from the Windows 7 clients to this drive which is connected to the Windows 2008 R2 server. The backup runs and appears to complete. In my case a 32.8GiB image is created. But then the backup fails stating the disk is write protected. I've been through the event logs on server and on my machine, and checked and rechecked permissions. Even set it to "everyone(full control)" but nothing seems to work.. Any ideas? Thanks Tanya |
