Windows 7: New HTPC

i set up a HTPC recently, have an extra hard drive with all my movies backed up, have tried setting up sharing but it still won't show up to view on other computers on the network.
running windows 7 pro on host
windows 7 premium and pro on others.

That's a 3 steps process:
1. Enable printer/file sharing on the HTPC
2. Join the same network
3. Map the network drives of the HTPC to the client machines.

all are on the same network and homegroup, have tried mapping hard drive as network drive, but it still doesn't show up.

i can see the movie and recorded tv folders, but it say's device not ready, and i might not have permissions.

have you clicked the movie folder and selected share with at the top of the explorer window
