Local Area Connection doesn't have valid ip configuration

I've been at this all day its a brand new computer(that might be the problem right there but i doubt it) I tried renew and release method and have unidentified network Public network as well even though i do not have wireless on the comp. The local area connection says no network access as well. Every other computer currently works wired or wireless so i know the ethernet isn't the problem either. Any help would be welcome thank you

    ipconfig /all

What is the machine connected to, a router? Have you checked your network device in Device Manager?

Your machine isnt connecting to your router or its DHCP server properly... it is getting an autoconfig IP address in the 169.254.xxx.xxx range.

First suggestion since this is a wired network connection is to try a different cable.

Might also want to check the DHCP settings in your router... may be set to only give IPs to a certain number of PC's, or to a limited range of IP addresses.

Hope this gets you started... keep us informed!
