    internet disconnects while gaming

Ok, So i never had a problem while i was on my windows xp sp3.

    installed windows 7 rc

I first noticed my internet dropping when i started redownloading my games on steam. It would download and all of a sudden the internet dies. I got to my network adapters and disable and re-enable and my internet goes back up.

My internet doesn't disconnect while i am just surfing the web.

Now, when i play games like HoN (heroes of newerth) or counter-strike source (sometimes). I will get disconnected over and over and it will be "limited connectivety" or something like that on the bottom right.. the little yellow icon shows up on my internet connections.

I connect straight to my modem and I am the only one connected to it. I have comcast cable.

Really gets annoying when I play games or when i download big files. It happens all the time when i play HoN. It will disconnect me like 2-4 times in the middle of the game and i would have to disable and enable my network adapter.

    Legit

Do you have IP-6 enabled in network and sharing. in etwork and sharing rightclick sys tray>change adapter settings>adapter>rightclick>properties>IP-6 uncheck

I suspect your router, please do the following.

Check the logs in the router.

If the router doesn't support logs, than do something to reach maximum bandwidth, and keep your eye on the routers lights.

Not the LAN lights, but the internet connection lights (WAN)

When the router crashes, the internet light will start blinking slowly instead of fixed or blinking very fast.
Maybe even a red light appears shortly (depending on brand and type.)

Post back your findings, we'll go from there.

    Well ok, the modem then.

In my post, replace every instance of router with modem and do what I suggested.
