Advanced tab in remote computer management

Greetings, I am new to the boards here, and I have attempted to search for an answer to the following question, but have not had much success. I have seen other people complain about it, but I'm looking for some rationale...

Does anyone know why Microsoft removed the ability to access the advanced tab when connecting to a PC via remote computer management?

    Thank you

No, when you go into computer management, then "action - connect to another computer", and while connected to another computer you right click on it, and go to "properties", from properties there is an advanced tab (when in XP). This advanced tab is gone in 7.

What was on the advanced tab? If it's been removed, then it's probably been moved somewhere else or was deemed unnecessary.

I often used it for the ability to view environmental variables remotely

Are you right clicking on the Computer icon on the desktop?

Ah, I see. I have no idea why it was removed. You'll have to contact Microsoft and ask them. I can only guess that it was not used enough, or perhaps Microsoft thought you should RDP into the machine if you want to change environmental variables.

There have been scripts written than can pull these variables, if you still need to see them. Here's a link to one of them:
