Creating temporary Internet sharing network via USB
I am looking for a temporary solution until I make a good choice & get the proper router & adapter(s) to connect my old dekstop & laptop in a network, both for sharing Internet connection & files...
My old desktop has no wireless built in, only LAN connection - which I used to connect to Internet via Cisco cable modem...
My new laptop which has both wireless & LAN available is currently offline.
Now, as I said, I need just a quck fix, temporary solution.. so my question is : Can I use an USB cable to connect my laptop & desktop, so that both my computers can exchange not just files but also simultaneously share and use my cable Internet ? Is it at all possible for the Internet connection to be shared via USB cable ?
PS. I just noticed that my Cisco cable modem also has USB connector - which I haven't used btw, as my desktop recognized the device and Internet even without it. But as the Internet connection is used by the desktop, I doubt that connecting modem's USB to laptop would provide Internet sharing for laptop as well ?
