Windows 7: Upgraded to new computer and cant get gaming servers working again

I recently upgraded from a gateway laptop running windows 7 home premium to my new desktop computer on 7 ultimate. I thought i could simply copy over my old server files for games like minecraft and mount&blade but i tried it out and my friends cannot connect. I realised oops, the server files are set to my old static IP so i created a new one and set them to that IP. Still having no luck. Iv tried everything i can think of, Ports on my router are forwarded, tried different ports, tried different static ip, and nothing seems to be working. A couple of notes: I dont beleive it to be the game files themselves because they worked on my laptop and i can connect myself. Other computers on our network cannot connect. Also last time i checked my external ip address was the same on this computer as it was on my laptop and i dont exactly know if its supposed to be the same or not. My router is a Linksys WRT310N running version 1.0.10.
